Our History

UK freshmen started a movement

University Christian Fellowship started in 1974 when a group of UK freshman started meeting together for a Bible study. Today UCF is still dedicated to same ideas that drove those first few meetings: intimacy with Jesus and maturity through discipleship to Christ.

As the study grew into something beyond a weekly meeting, Lexington Christian Fellowship was organized in 1980 as a local church within the university community. Over the following years, LCF grew and planted two more congregations, Jessamine Christian Fellowship and Trinity Christian Fellowship. At the same time, growing a church plant in Ayutla, Mexico.

As other areas of ministry have developed throughout the years, reaching college students continues to remain a priority for all the churches. In addition to serving UK and BCTC, UCF and has expanded to Asbury University through Jessamine Christian Fellowship, and recently added a Bible study at EKU.
